Comparison of the effects of marijuana legalization on mental health in selected countries

The topic of legalizing marijuana for recreational use is becoming increasingly relevant over time, not only worldwide but also in the Czech Republic. This trend began with the legalization of recreational marijuana in the United States, specifically in the states of Colorado and Washington in 2012. Subsequently in 2013 Uruguay became the first country to legalize marijuana throughout its entire territory. Since then, other U.S. states and countries such as Canada and Malta have joined the legalization movement. The most interesting development from the perspective of the Czech Republic is in Germany, where the legalization of cultivation and possession of marijuana for recreational use is planned from the year 2024. This, coupled with the growing support from experts and politicians advocating for marijuana legalization in the Czech Republic, could lead to the adoption of similar legislation. The legalization of marijuana raises a series of questions that need to be addressed before such a step is taken. Among the most common concerns associated with marijuana legalization are its impact on mental health and the potential increase in marijuana use among adolescents due to easier access to the drug. Wilderness and recreation in the Šumava NP - typology of the relationship

The diploma thesis focuses on evaluating the relationship between wilderness and recreation, specifically in the Czech National Park Šumava. Šumava is one of the unique natural sites, not only due to its location in Central Europe, but also due to its unique natural wealth hidden in the heart of Europe. Moors, peat bogs, river springs, but also forest vegetation and much more are among the treasures of this Czech national park. These places are an attraction for many visitors. The work examines how to reconcile these two opposing tendencies. On the one hand, it is a desire to protect the natural environment and, on the other hand, it is the ever-increasing pressure of tourism and recreation. The diploma thesis is divided into two basic parts. The first part is a search of the evaluation of the "wilderness" itself and offers a view of this concept from different angles. It is evident that the view of the wilderness will be different in the world context from what we know from the Czech Republic. Furthermore, it is possible to get acquainted with the influence of recreation on the natural environment, resp. "Wilderness". The Politics of Marijuana Legalisation in a Comparative Perspective

This work focus on the issue of potential legalisation of marijuana for recreational use in Czech Republic in comparison with different experiences from two, foreign states of the European Union - Netherlands and Spain. The work begins with a description of a historical context of cannabis use that is subsequently followed by historic and actual state of legislation in Czech Republic. The chapter regarding the situation in Czech Republic is furthermore composed of different opinions of relevant political parties, experts and public opinion polls. The second part is addressing the historical process and actual state of legalisation in Netherlands and Spain that is afterwards also accompanied by the opinions of political parties, experts and public opinion polls, which are focused on actual problems considering the specific type of legalisation in both countries. This chapter is followed-up by a comparison of the Spanish and Dutch model of legalisation and by general summarization of different political and expert opinions across the chosen countries accompanied by the information from the public opinion polls. Prevalence and patterns of substance use among clients of Hard and Smart programme in 2016-2019

The bachelor thesis is focused on the phenomenon of substance abuse in the entertainment environment. The aim of the work is to find out the level and patterns of substance abuse among clients of the H&S Program in the years 2016-2019. Its partial goal is to examine the connection of their use with sociodemographic factors, with factors related to the type of event and cultural characteristics of the entertainment environment and the development of these factors over time. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part provides information about the environment of nightlife and entertainment, how music is related to this environment and what musical subcultures can be encountered. Due to the addictological focus of the work, the following is information about the use of psychoactive substances in this environment, the motivation of visitors to use these substances and information about the risks associated with it. The last part introduces the H&S Program, as a major provider of preventive and harm reduction services in the nightlife and entertainment environment in the Czech Republic. Recreational Users Needs Analysis in Melnik Region

Title: Analysis of need of recreational drug users in Melnik Region Abstract Prevalence of drug using among those dance events visitors in the country increases steadily throughout life (Petroš Zábranský, 2003 Mravčík, Škařupová, Orlíková, 2008). Increase is also the acceptability of the use of some drugs, especially cannabis (Blahut, 2014). The research which was designed to determinate the prevalence of drug using among members of different musical subcultures in the district of Melnik, that number of recreational drug users in the Mělník region relatively high. 98 % of respondents (194 respondents) said that at least once in their life used drugs recreationally (Přádova, 2013). A group of recreational users compared to other types of drug users is however greatly neglected. Interventions are insufficient for a large percentage of recreational users, unavailable or about it users do not even know (Mravčík et al, 2008). People tend to enjoy the addictive substances in a fun environment. There is however missing feedback from these users which would helpful to develop appropriate and effective interventions. Paramedic knowledge of first aid overdose legal recreational drugs

In this bachelors thesis topic: Rescue worker knowledge of first aid for overdosed people on legal recreational drugs . I decided to define the theoretical part of a group of substances that come under legal recreational drugs . I also characterised the history and composition of those drugs , their effects on the human body , signs of intoxication and procedure of a rescure worker and application of first aid. The plot of this work, is to point out the knowledge of a rescue worker in providing first aid to patients who used and are suffering from poisoning their body from any legal drug. I am also interested in whether this procedure theory on it, is consistent to the latest knowledge and practices of a rescue workers in their field. In the practical part of my bachelor thesis, I decided to focus on a group of rescue workers of South Bohemia, with whom I have met during my practical training . As my thesis sample , I used a quantitative method that is based on 50 anonymously answered question forms . I have not specified my hypotheses. I expect this work to be help for current and future rescue workers in their studies , and also, I hope in deeper acknowledgement, improvement of working procedure, and especially, bigger attention to the substances that are tolerated by our society, although very dangerous.
